Villagers’ son jailed without bond after violating his probation

Michael Kendall Davis

A Villagers’ son has been jailed without bond after violating his probation on a drug charge.

Michael Kendall Davis, 45, who resides at 17353 SE 76th Flintlock Terrace in the Village of Chatham, was booked Tuesday afternoon at the Sumter County Detention Center.

At the time of his original arrest, Davis had been driving a black Dodge Charger at about 3 a.m. Aug. 31, 2018 at County Road 103 and County Road 102. It appeared Davis threw something out the window before a traffic stop was initiated. He told deputies it was a cigarette.

A K-9 unit was summoned to the scene and the dog alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of narcotics.

“The defendant’s vehicle was searched and we discovered little pieces of tin foil, rolled up in a ball, inside the vehicle that is consistent with transporting narcotics. One of the pieces of tin foil tested positive for methamphetamine,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.

A search along the roadway turned up pieces of tinfoil that contained a substance determined to be heroin. Davis was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug equipment.
