James Ouderkirk passed away Aug. 17, 2021. He was born in Owosso, Mi on February 9, 1929, and was a resident of The Villages, Fl. for 18 years.

James worked for General Motors in Michigan for 46 years. He was a 43-year member of the American Legion – the last 18 years as a member of Lady Lake Post 347 –  and was a Korean Veteran.

James was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne. He is survived by his wife Patricia Walsh, 3 half-brothers all of Michigan, Ronald (Rhonda), Richard (Kay), and Gary. 2 Stepchildren Kathleen (Scott) Cundiff of Ky. And Daniel Walsh (Jackie) of Il. 5 step-grandchildren Kellie Walsh, Molly Walsh, Jack Walsh, Kaitlyn Cundiff, & Josh Cundiff.

Visitation and services will be held 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral and Cremation’s Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL  32162. An American Legion Military Service will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m., followed by funeral service from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
