Central Florida League Summer 2018 Highlights Week Six

Central Florida League’s week six saw Gators Brownwood come from behind to take Team Koller in 8 innings 18-13.

Team Koller went ahead 12-10 after six innings; but, the Gators scored two runs in the top of the seventh and held their opponent scoreless to force extra innings. In the top of the eighth the Gators scored 6 runs and only allowed Team Koller to score a run in the bottom of the inning. Gators was led by Howard Charney, Pete Rose, Jim Rogers and Pat Perkins who all had three hits. Contributing a pair of hits each were: Charlie Clare, Tim Wilcox, Paul Isenberg, Fred Hughes, Chuck Bowman, and Peter Daub. Team Koller got three hits from Bob Holbert, Don Melcher, George Kennedy, and sub Ron Young. Chipping in a pair of hits were Rocky Spottswood, Bill Reed, Bob Buchanan, Bill Sass, and David Oatley.

Palm Ridge Dental scored in all but one inning to defeat IHOP 10-6.

The Dental team got three hits by Jim Boerman and Craig Dahlquist, while Mike Jeffries, Jack Nagle, and Bob Jacques chipped in a pair of hits each. IHOP had three hits from Rick Fredieu and two each by Manny Sanchez, Don Brozick and John Leone.

Synergy Wealth gets a win besting Fross & Fross 9-7.

Synergy got two runs in the second as Bob Roth stroked a triple to drive in Ray Bedford and Jim White. In the third inning Synergy scored five runs as Ed Haith
and Jim White hit back to back triples. Fross then intentionally walked both Ray Bedford and Bob Roth to attempt to turn a double play; but, batter Vernon Brooks ended up walking to score the fifth run of the inning. Fross had three hits from Bill Nisbet and a pair each from Bruce Harlan, Cal Driskill, Al Mahar, John Kushner, and Pat Kirk.

Guests should be charged to use facilities in The Villages
