An 82-year-old Villager and his daughter will take part in a court-ordered meeting next month over an eviction from a Historic Side home.

Charles Newman is attempting to have his 41-year-old daughter, Susan Newman, evicted from his home at 1813 W. Schwartz Blvd. They have both been ordered to attend a case management conference at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 7 before Judge Heidi Davis in Lake County Court. If they choose not to attend, their attorneys must be there to represent their interests.

Charles Newman was banned from his home following his arrest last month on a misdemeanor charge of battery after an altercation with this daughter. He has repeatedly expressed his concern about his 8-year-old grandson, living in his home with his mother.

Susan Newman, who has lived in the home for several years, is also unhappy that she has been deprived of automobile transportation after her father was banned from his home by a “no contact” order issued through the court as a result of the altercation. At the time of his arrest, Newman told police he was frustrated by the situation with his daughter and her suspected drug use.
