An oft-arrested Villager in a court filing has indicated he has no income.
Morris Hirsch Wolff, 81, of the Village of Mallory Square, has two pending cases in Sumter County Court. He was arrested in September on a charge of practicing law without a license and arrested in October after an alleged attack on a tennis companion at Tierra Del Sol Recreation Center. He is being represented by the public defender’s office.
He remains free on bond.
He is due for arraignment Tuesday in the case in which he is charged with practicing law without a license.
In a document on file with the court, Wolff has indicated he does not earn any money from Social Security, veterans benefits or any other income. He also indicates he has no savings, no investments and does not own a car or property.
Wolff lists a home address of 657 Mullins Path, a Designer home owned by a woman who acquired it in 2009.
Wolff was arrested after an altercation at the Tierra Del Sol tennis court on Feb. 1, 2017. While free on bond, Wolff returned three weeks later to the Tierra Del Sol courts in defiance of a trespass order. When deputies arrived on the scene, he demanded an attorney. He was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
Wolff was allowed to enter into a pre-trial diversion program, but apparently became such a problem he was booted from the program due to his “behavior,” according to a letter on file in Sumter County Court. The apparently frustrated prosecutor washed his hands of Wolff by offering him the chance pay a one-time fine of $450 and dropping the case.
He has also been convicted of family abuse in 1999 in Hawaii and disorderly conduct in 1991 in Georgia.
