Louis Escobar

Louis Escobar, age 90, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2018, after a brief illness. Louis was born on November 14, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to Louis and Rita (Apodaca) Escobar.

Louis married Esperanza “Rose” Lopez on July 4, 1953 in Buffalo, New York.
Prior to moving to Buffalo, Louis served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was one of a small group of men in the special service for development and testing of the guided missile program. Louis worked for 32 years for the Western NY Telephone company. Louis was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. He loved to play the piano, work crossword and other puzzles, and greatly enjoyed classical music and the opera. Louis was an avid stock market follower and investor, and coin collector. Most of all Louis loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren.

Louis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Esperanza Rose Escobar; son Anthony Louis Escobar (wife Michelle) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter Lorraine Schildnecht (husband Edward) of Darien, Connecticut; and son Michael Martin Escobar of Buffalo, New York; and his grandchildren Sydney, Edward, Esther, Maria, Brittany, and Cheyanne, and great grandchildren Aiden, Auryn, Trinity, Mia, and William. Louis is preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond, sisters Julie and Rosario, and daughter-in law Rita (Michael Escobar).

A graveside service with full military honors will be scheduled at a later date.
