Towering structure at Brownwood will combine healthcare center with hotel

The towering structure taking shape at Brownwood continues to have the curious looking skyward.

Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood and the Brownwood Hotel & Spa are taking shape.

The 32-acre golf-cart accessible complex brings together The Villages Health, Lake Medical Imaging, Florida Cancer Specialists, St. Luke’s Laser Institute and Lake Centre for Rehab. The diagram at the construction site indicates the complex will include a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, as was previously announced by Villages Developer Mark Morse.

An overview of the planned 32-acre complex.

Connected by a common courtyard, the first level of the center will be an active environment incorporating a Walgreens retail pharmacy, lab, central registration, and education and resource center to aid in the coordination of care for patients, as well as other complementary amenities. The surgery center will have a discreet exit out to a connector that leads to the hotel with a dedicated patient concierge. It is being described as a “bedless hospital” focused on out-patient procedures.
