Motorcyclist with revoked license and marijuana arrested at Circle K in The Villages

Michael Joel Williams

An motorcyclist with a revoked license and marijuana was arrested at a Circle K in The Villages.

Michael Joel Williams, 40, of Lady Lake, had been riding a black motorcycle at 8:54 p.m. Thursday attempting to leave the parking lot of the Circle K at 1527 Buenos Aires Blvd. when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed the license plate was not registered.

Williams told the deputy he “had just purchased the motorcycle from a friend” and had not yet registered it under his name, according to the arrest report.

A check revealed that Williams’ driver’s license had been revoked for two years for drug offenses and he did not have a motorcycle endorsement. The motorcycle registration had expired in 2018. A pat down of Williams turned up a clear plastic bag that contained marijuana and a glass smoking pipe.

Williams was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $3,100 bond.
