Howard M. Bloch

Howard M. Bloch, age 84, of The Villages, FL passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.


“I don’t like batting against you” was music to my ears. The most enjoyable time of my retirement was pitching softball for over 20 years, culminating in over 400 wins and 27 shutouts. I also enjoyed bowling, solving crossword puzzles, and playing computer games and a dedicated fan of Ohio State football and basketball.

I was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1934 and passed away on February 13, 2019. Survived by wife Minnie; stepdaughter Peggy McKinney (Richard) of The Villages; step-grandson Vincent Colburn; 3 beautiful great-granddaughters Amelia, Norah and Vivienne all of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by parents Max and Mollie Bloch and brother Beryl Bloch.

I graduated from Franklin University and retired after 34 years of Federal service and moved to The Villages in 1995. I was a US Army veteran.

A service with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11am.
