Couple wins permission for garage extension at home in Haciendas of Mission Hills

A Villages couple won permission Wednesday for a garage extension at their home in the Haciendas of Mission Hills.

Richard and Janice Shafer, who live at 470 Feliu Run, own a rare Designer home in that villa-dominated section of The Villages. The couple is planning to put on an addition that is 20 feet wide and 21 feet deep, according to their application to the Architectural Review Committee. The addition will be added to the side of their existing golf cart garage.

Richard and Janice Shafer have won permission to add an extension to their garage in the Haciendas of Mission Hills.

The contractor is Bader Construction Inc.

The Shafers bought their home in 2013 for $616,300.

Their annual property tax bill is mailed to a $1.4 million condo in Washington D.C.
