Marie A. Brady

Marie A. Brady, a resident of The Villages, Fl, died at the Ted and Diane Brandley Hospice House on April 30th. She was 93 years old.

Born Marie Hoffman of Philadelphia, PA, during The Depression, Marie met her husband Walter, at a USO dance. They settled in Jersey City, New Jersey and moved to Cliffside Park in 1951, where they raised their children, Walter Jr. Catherine, Maureen and Kenneth. Marie had a lifelong love of reading and worked as a librarian in Cliffside Park, NJ and Leonia, NJ. Her years volunteering at The Lady Lake Library, Operation Shoeboxes and the Food Pantry were special to her. She also enjoyed being a longtime member of the Lynnhaven Ladies.

Marie was predeceased by her husband Walter Brady, her companion John Manning, and her daughter Catherine Martin, who she was confident she would meet again in heaven. Marie is survived by her remaining children, their spouses, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank her caregiver Jean Johnson whom our mother loved as a daughter, for helping her enjoy healthy, happy and independent later years. In Marie’s memory, monetary donations would be welcome to: Puzzles on Wheels c/o Joyce Lundeen 1983 Odeum Street, The Villages 32162.

A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Marie’s birthday October 18, 2021 at St. Timothy Church, 8:30 am followed by a reception at the villa she loved.
