Man arrested after fight over cell phone

A 19-year-old Wildwood man was arrested Sunday after a fight with a pregnant woman over a cell phone.

Patrick Stefon Phillips was arrested on felony charges after he caused a laceration to the lip of the woman who is 14 weeks pregnant with his child, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. He also wrapped his arm around her neck cutting off her circulation and knocked the phone out of her hands when she attempted to call 911, the report indicated. She then grabbed a friend’s cell phone and called 911.

Phillips was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and obstructing justice by depriving use of 911. He was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
