James Leach Jr.

John Leach, Jr., age 71, of Summerfield, FL passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. He was born in El Paso, TX on June 29, 1945. He was raised in Oklahoma and Wisconsin. He served during the Vietnam Conflict with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. After his military service he lived in Northwest Indiana, married Diane Terpstra. They were married for 15 years until her passing. John worked at Inland Steel as a welder until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing and hanging out at Starbucks with his buddies and driving his Corvettes. He moved to Summerfield, FL in 2005. He is survived by his son Eric Leach of Los Angeles, CA; sisters Nancy Gates of Summerfield, FL and Johnnie May (Eric) Moss of Broken Arrow, OK; sweetheart Trish Powers of The Villages, FL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Diane. A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 3-5pm. Burial will take place at Ft Gibson, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Toys for Tots.
