A 41-year-old California man was arrested after he was found sleeping in some hollowed-out bushes behind Margarita Republic in Spanish Springs Town Square.

A waitress at Margarita Republic told Lady Lake police the man, who appeared to be homeless, had been sleeping in the bushes Friday night near a storage shed behind the building. When an officer arrived, Community Watch was already on the scene, but the man would not answer questions. Community Watch had seen the man staggering near the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center. The man was identified by police as 41-year-old Brian Alan Thomas of Los Angeles. He appeared to be intoxicated and was found to be in possession of a beer can and two bottles of 99 Bananas Liquor.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of disorderly intoxication.
