Village Airport Van driver ticketed after three-vehicle crash on County Road 466

A Village Airport Van driver was ticketed after a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on County Road 466.

Jamie Danielle Diehlman, 37, of Fruitland Park, had been at the wheel of a Village Taxi, operated by Airport Van, at 1:45 p.m. westbound on County Road 466 near the entrance to the Village of La Zamora when the accident occurred.

Lady Lake police were on the scene of the crash on County Road 466.

There was debris in the roadway and when a vehicle swerved, the Village Taxi struck the rear end of a black 1995 Chevy Silverado driven by 81-year-old Alton Elmore Harrison, of Lady Lake, according to a preliminary accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The pickup collided with a red 2013 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by 71-year-old Gay Lynn Light, of Oxford.

There were no injuries. Diehlman was ticketed on a charge of following too closely.

Damage to the rear bumper of the pickup truck was being evaluated.

The Village Taxi was towed from the scene of the crash.
