The woman in the infamous “Sex on the Square” episode, has a new attorney.
Attorney Joseph Indelicato said Wednesday he is no longer representing Villager Margaret “Peggy” Klemm, who remains jailed at the Sumter County Detention Center on a violation of probation.
Klemm is now represented by attorney Allan H. Kaye of Gainesville, Indelicato said.
Kaye also has an office in Summerfield.
Indelicato had said his then-client would not be willing to accept the state’s offer of one year in jail.
Indelicato had indicated he would be willing to take Klemm’s case before a jury.
Klemm is facing misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. She had been arrested on a charge of driving under the influence in April while operating a golf cart in Lake Sumter Landing. That charge was reduced to reckless driving and on May 30 she was placed on probation. Three days later, she and a man nearly 20 years her junior were arrested by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy while they were on stage at Lake Sumter Landing, allegedly unclothed and having sex. Initially, she made bond, but later surrendered herself on the probation violation.
On July 2, the man arrested with her June 2 at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square was sentenced to six months in jail for his role in the sexual tryst. David Bobilya, 49, of Summerfield, is also being assessed a $50 charge for each day of his incarceration.
Judge Thomas Skidmore has presided in both the Klemm and Bobilya cases.
