Motorcyclist killed in collision with truck pulling trailer on SR44

A 31-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck hauling a trailer at 8:15 a.m. Saturday on State Road 44 in Lake County.

The motorcyclist, Jason Davis of Orlando, was pronounced dead by the medical examiner. The collision occurred after 82-year-old Claude Ouellette of Eustis, who was traveling west on State Road 44, turned into the path of the motorcycle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Ouellette was not injured. A passenger in his vehicle, 68-year-old Sandra Sneed of Eustis, also escaped injury.

The accident remains under investigation.
