Tattoos help identify man spotted riding bicycle without lights on U.S. 301

Dalton Shayne Rickett

Tattoos helped identify a man spotted riding his bicycle without lights on U.S. 301.

The man was spotted before sunrise Easter morning riding on the side of the road, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

He attempted to give the deputy a false identity.

The deputy checked photos of 26-year-old Dalton Shayne Rickett from a 2011 Marion County arrest and found that the man had the same tattoos.

The deputy also found Rickett was wanted on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
