Wayne M. Smith Jr.

Wayne M. Smith, Jr., 78, of Summerfield, FL, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017. Mr. Smith was born August 23, 1938 in Douglas, GA to Wayne and Lillian (Hardy) Smith.  He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a truck driver. Wayne was of the Baptist Faith and returned to this area in 2000 from NC. He loved driving and music. Wayne especially loved Bluegrass and the Grand Ole Opry. Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Smith of NC; step-daughter, Kerry (Adam) Taylor of Summerfield; sisters, Yvonne Duvall of NC and Jeanette Smith of NC; 3 grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Wayne’s life 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel.
