Fernando and Forte land recording deal, residency in Las Vegas

They may not have won the million-dollar prize, but “America’s Got Talent” finalist act Forte has scored a record deal and residency in Las Vegas.
The operatic trio may have landed in fourth place on the popular NBC talent showcase, but they still walked away with a prize almost as good as winning first place. The group, consisting of Josh Page, Sean Panikkar and Fernando Varela, has inked a deal with SYCO/Columbia Records, the label founded by “AGT” creator Simon Cowell.
Fans won’t have to wait long to buy Forte’s music: Their first single, “Caruso,” will be released next Monday, and their debut album will hit shelves Nov. 12. And later this year, the trio will headline a special New Year’s residency at the Tropicana Las Vegas from Dec. 28 to Dec. 30.
Varela is a Villages’ favorite having performed at Savannah Center and Church on the Square.
Varela is the music director at St. Paul Parish in Belleview.
