4,000 vehicles a day traveling on Micro Racetrack Road

About 4,000 vehicles are traveling each day down Micro Racetrack Road which connects Lake Ella Road and County Road 466A in Lake County.

That’s up from about 1,200 vehicles per day five years ago, said Lake County Public Works Director Jim Stivender.

He said many drivers are opting to use Micro Racetrack Road as a cut-through, many of those drivers hoping to avoid the construction on U.S. 27/441.

That construction could be completed as early as June, he said. Traffic on Micro Racetrack Road may go down after that construction is completed, he said.

As The Villages prepares to build 2,000 homes in Fruitland Park, part of the plan is to improve the intersection of Micro Racetrack Road and County Road 466A. A signal light will be put in at the intersection. The Villages will pay for the project.
