A Villager who told law enforcement he was on a 3 a.m. grocery store run was arrested Tuesday on a charge of driving under the influence.

Todd Allan Proodian, 42, of Plaintain Path, was pulled over by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy on County Road 466A near Buena Vista Boulevard.

The deputy asked Proodian where he was going to at that hour to which Proodian replied, “The grocery store.” The deputy noted that Proodian’s speech was slurred and smelled of alcohol, according to the arrest report.

Proodian failed field sobriety exercises, the report indicated. He provided breath samples of .211 and .214 BAC.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $1,000.
