Marion County commissioners back proposed reforms for Enterprise Florida

The Marion County Board of County Commissioners has announced its support of proposed reforms for Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development organization and an economic development partner to Florida counties including Marion.

Last week, Governor Rick Scott announced the reforms as part of the statewide effort to support job creation and economic development in Florida; these include the creation of a $250 million competitive fund called “Florida Enterprise Fund” and streamlining the state’s approval process for new enterprise projects.

“Marion County is proud to support Governor Scott’s proposal to create the Florida Enterprise Fund and improve the economic development process,” said Marion County Commission Chairman Kathy Bryant. “Enterprise Florida has served a vital role as a partner in job creation and economic prosperity for our community.”

Local projects supported by the Marion County and Enterprise Florida partnership include Ansafone, FedEx Ground, Krausz, Inc. and R+L Carriers.
