A 911 call alerting law enforcement to a reckless driver was made moments before a fatal accident early Saturday morning in Marion County.

Crystal Zolanda McNeal, 27, of Citra, was pronounced dead at 2:23 a.m. at the scene of the single-vehicle accident on County Road 329, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Her 2005 Dodge Durango left the roadway and collided with a large tree, the FHP report indicated.

Someone had spotted McNeal’s reckless driving and called 911. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

McNeal worked as a corrections officer at Lowell Correctional Center.
