Summerfield man arrested on U.S. 301 for driving on a suspended license

A 41-year-old Summerfield man was arrested Friday morning after he was caught driving with a suspended license on U.S. 301.

Christopher Scott McCowan was pulled over at about 10 a.m., according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy who made the traffic stop discovered McCowan’s license had been suspended.

McCowan was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $2,000.
