Wildwood man arrested with drugs after K-9 alerts on vehicle which made U-turn

A Wildwood man was arrested after a K-9 alerted on a vehicle in which he had been a passenger.

The vehicle attracted the attention of Lake County sheriff’s deputies when the driver made a U-turn at 12:10 a.m. Friday on Unity Road in Fruitland Park.

A passenger, 21-year-old Michael Leroy Maitland II, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a glass smoking piece.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail where bond was set $3,000.
