Richard Dean Clark, Colonel, USAF, retired, passed peacefully from this life to the next on April 19, 2021.  He was born October 27, 1942 to Virginia and Norris Clark of Fillmore, Indiana.

Dick loved the Lord, his family, and his country.  He graduated from Butler University in 1963 and received a Master’s degree from North Carolina State in 1970.  He was in the Air Force for 26 years and served in Vietnam.  After his retirement, he taught math at Trinity Presbyterian School in Montgomery, Alabama, and especially enjoyed being able to coach athletic teams. One highlight of coaching was being assistant coach to the girls’ volleyball team that won the Alabama State Championship in 1998.

Dick and Carol moved to The Villages in 2001 and were active members of New Covenant United Methodist Church.

He is survived by Carol, his wife of 57 years; son Scott and partner Jeff Wilson; daughter Jennifer Baskerville and partner Tom Gross; brother Dan Clark and wife Debbie.

He became a much loved Bible study teacher and is now able to be a student at the feet of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Celebration of Life will be on May 3rd at 10 a.m.at New Covenant United Methodist Church with military honors at the church’s columbarium after the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Covenant UMC, Cornerstone Hospice, or Wildwood Food Pantry.
