Dorothy L. Hutson, 93, was called to Heaven on Wednesday August 25, 2021, where she was reunited with her loving husband Claude of 68 years.

Dorothy was born April 10, 1928, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1946 and attended Florida State University for one year.

On March 25, 1950, she married Claude C. Hutson Jr. in West Palm Beach, Florida. Dorothy worked at Florida Power and Light prior to having children. She was a stay at home Mom for several years, and she finished her career as a Loan Officer at Tropical Telco Credit Union. Upon retirement in 1983 they moved to Lady Lake from Hollywood, Florida.

Dorothy loved to volunteer at the United Methodist Church youth group and she enjoyed traveling. Her favorite travel destination was to Alaska. She was the smiling face that greeted customers for 20 plus years at Hutson Automotive in Fruitland Park. Her faith in God and her devotion to family guided her daily actions. She touched and impacted many lives in a loving, caring and compassionate way, and for that she will be truly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Craig Hutson (Linda), Gary Hutson (Joveann), and granddaughter Melissa Hutson (Cory). Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elfie Camus, and her brother, Charles E. Camus Jr.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 3, 2021, 2:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home located at 134 N Hwy 441/27 Lady Lake, Florida 32159 with Pastor John Blake officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to: Tavares Cornerstone Hospice House, 2445 Lane Park Rd. Tavares, Florida 32778.
