Michael McWilliams

A 47-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting a police officer after he had to be tasered at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday outside a Villages restaurant.

Lady Lake police were called to El Ranchito restaurant on the Historic Side of The Villages after they received a report of a man arguing with a woman outside the restaurant.

Michael W. McWilliams refused to comply with the police officer’s commands and continued to threaten the woman, according to an arrest report from Lady Lake police.

The officer unholstered his taser, warned McWilliams and then tasered him, according to the arrest report.

Before McWilliams was transported to the Lake County Jail, Lake County EMS was called to the scene to check him out.

McWilliams then was taken to the jail where bond was set at $1,500. He has a July 30 arraignment date in Lake County Court.
