Texas motorcyclist killed in Alachua County accident

A female motorcyclist from Texas was killed Friday evening in an accident in Alachua County.

Marcy Simpson, 48, of Corpus Christi was traveling south on SW State Road 45 on a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle while approaching an intersection, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. Flor Estela Reza, 45, of Bronson, was stopped facing east on SW 175th Avenue in a 2016 Toyota Camry as Simpson approached the intersection, when Reza entered into the southbound travel lane of SW State Road 45, the report stated.

The front of Simpson’s motorcycle consequently hit the front left corner and driver’s side of Reza’s vehicle. Simpson was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Charges are pending.
