Motorcyclist killed in accident in Pasco County

A motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Monday in Pasco County.

William Ray Lawrence, 57, of Spring Hill was riding a 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on State Road 52 in the left turn lane at Chicago Avenue, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. David Robert Wright, 71, of New Port Richey was driving a 2004 Toyota Sequoia eastbound on State Road 52 in the outside lane approaching the intersection. The motorcyclist turned into the path of Wright’s vehicle, causing the front of Lawrence’s motorcycle to crash into the side of Wright’s vehicle. Lawrence was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Lawrence was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the report noted.
