Florida Highway Patrol looking for vehicle that struck, killed Ocala man

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle that struck and killed an Ocala man early Monday morning on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Marion County.

Steve Lynch, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident which occurred at 5 a.m. and U.S. Hwy. 441 and SE 62nd Street.

Lynch was standing or walking on the paved portion of the southbound lanes of U.S. Hwy. 441 when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction. The hit-and-run vehicle is possibly a Ford that has damage to its front right amber turn signal and headlight. Also, the right side mirror is broken but the mirror housing may be mostly intact. Anyone with information should contact Corporal R.
