Crash snarls traffic on County Road 466A

A two-car collision snarled traffic Thursday afternoon on County Road 466A at Colony Plaza.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. near the Walgreens on County Road 466A.

A person had to be extricated from this vehicle after an accident on County Road 466A.

One of the vehicles was knocked onto its side in the collision and at least one person had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Traffic was routed off County Road 466A onto Colony Boulevard due to road blockage.

A second vehicle sustained damage in the accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate.

The Villages Public Safety Department and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
