Man not wearing shirt or shoes arrested after trespassing at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge

Gene Audrey Parker III

A man who originally attracted attention because he was not wearing a shirt or shoes was arrested after it was determined he had been trespassing at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza.

Gene Audrey Parker III, 28, of Summerfield, had been spotted at the store on June 28 and appeared to be acting suspiciously. By the time a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy arrived, Parker was outside. He claimed he had been close to the store because he was attempting to access the wi-fi.

A check revealed that Parker had been trespassed from the store in 2015 after he was arrested for theft.

Video surveillance showed that on June 28, Parker was near the grocery entrance.

A deputy tracked down and arrested Parker on Sunday.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
