John M. Riccio Jr.

John M. Riccio, Jr., of Lady Lake, Florida, joined Christ our Savior on Sunday, April 13, 2014. He was 86 years old. John was born on Staten Island, New York on May 16, 1927. He was the son of John M. Riccio, Sr. and Marie K. Conner both of Newark, New Jersey. In his early youth, he lived in Newark, NJ prior to moving to Bellville NJ. He married Angela M. Addonizio of Newark, New Jersey and together enjoyed 62 years of true love. John graduated St. Benedicts Preparatory School in Newark, NJ and attended Seton Hall University before joining his father in the family business, Riccio’s Markets, in Newark, NJ. John later sought a career in the insurance industry and retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1983. He continued his insurance career as an independent agent until retirement in 1992. When not spending time with his family, John’s other passions were golf and cars. John moved to, New Hampshire in the late 70’s before retiring to The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida. John is survived by his wife, Angela Riccio of the LaZamora section of The Villages; sons, John M. Riccio, III and wife, Lorraine Riccio, Doylestown, PA, and Chris M. Riccio and wife, Mary Riccio, Ocala, FL. He was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren whom he adored; Christopher Riccio, Newtown PA, Samantha Riccio, Hollywood, CA, John Riccio, Tampa, FL, and Christa Riccio, Ocala, FL. John is survived by a younger brother, Fred Riccio, who resides in Amherst, NH. John was a member of the Armed Forces and serviced in both the Army and Navy. A memorial mass at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Condolences may be left at www.beyersfuneralhome.com which will be forwarded to the family. John was best known for his gentle and kind nature. He will be missed by his family and friends but all are comforted in the belief of life everlasting and that we will be reunited again. Rest in Peace.
