Lady Lake budget workshop scheduled Aug. 21

Lady Lake Commissioners will hold  budget workshop at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at Lady Lake Town Hall.

Lady Lake leaders face some tough choices as they move toward establishing a final millage rate for the coming year. Last month, commissioners voted to set the proposed millage rate at 3.8781, an increase over last year.

Public hearings on the tax rate will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 and at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17.

The town is facing the loss of about $615,000 per year in funding it had received through the Communications Services Tax. The town has seen an unexplained drop in that revenue.
