Seven people transported to ORMC after accident on I-75 in Marion County

Seven people were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning on Interstate 75 in Marion County.

A 2009 Kia Sorrento driven by Crystal Scott, 26, of St. Petersburg had been stopped in the roadway near Mile Marker 337, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The reason the vehicle was stopped has not been determined, the FHP report indicated.

The vehicle was struck at 12:30 a.m. by a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 45-year-old Kirk George Anglin of Melbourne. The pickup landed on its roof and blocked all northbound lanes of traffic.

Anglin and a passenger in his truck, as well as Scott and four passengers in her vehicle, were all transported to ORMC.
