OakLeaf Villages man arrested on drug charges after K-9 alerts on vehicle

Ronald Harrison Day

An OakLeaf Villages Apartment Homes man was arrested on drug charges early Saturday morning after a K-9 alerted on his vehicle in Leesburg.

Ronald Harrison Day, 42, was at the wheel of a white Lexus that was pulled over at about 5:30 a.m. after Leesburg police heard a loud bang, according to an arrest report.

The Lady Lake resident would not give consent to search his vehicle, so a K-9 unit was summoned to the scene. The dog alerted on the SUV, indicating the likely presence of narcotics.

A search of the vehicle turned up Alprazolam, Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine.

Day was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $6,000 bond.

He had been arrested in 2015 at a Wildwood motel after a child was found to be in need of medical attention.
