Villager writes first-ever Letter to the Editor over concern about attorney general

To The Editor:

I fear the population of The Villages may not be getting a clear picture of the situation regarding our next Attorney General. This is such an important event I am driven to present my thoughts in a first-ever Letter to the Editor.
Why is this such an important appointment at this particular time? Sessions was one of Trump’s earliest supporters, continues to share his views on everything from immigration to refugee policy to voting rights to police shootings, and differed significantly only on whether he should have recused himself from the probe into foreign election interference.
The man now appointed to be an impartial arbitrator has already made his prejudice abundantly clear on various television appearances: he, too, thinks the investigation is a “witch hunt”. (He also thinks only Christian men should be judges, but that’s another story.) So now,the special counsel’s investigation can be smothered from within but with no “Saturday Night Massacre” headlines.
Whether you think the investigation is a “witch hunt” or not, the Justice Department that is supposed to  be independent may now be less independent than any time in history.
