The chairman of Community Development District 5 said there is abuse of parking taking place in the Jasper Villas.
Walter Martin, himself a resident of the Jasper Villas, said some of his neighbors have become annoyed with the parking abuse.
He said three vehicles in particular have angered residents. Two are the vehicles of residents of the villas who use the parking area for their personal convenience. The third vehicle belongs to a resident of the Village of Lynnhaven, Martin said.
He said the Lynnhaven resident previously parked a work truck in the Jasper Villas parking area. When he was “discovered,” the Lynnhavener started leaving his work truck in his driveway and began parking his personal vehicle in the Jasper Villas, Martin said.
The end result of the parking abuse is that residents’ guests have nowhere to park, Martin said.
Jasper Villas residents have dealt with this type of frustration in the past. For nearly two years, a car with expired California plates remained in the parking area of the Jasper Villas.
Some CDDs have put up signage in villas, spelling out the proper use of the parking area. District counsel Valerie Fuchs suggested this may be something CDD 5 might opt to do.
