Restaurant adding their own tips

To the Editor:

I had read about dubious restaurant charges in The Villages. I had lunch at RJ Gators in Sumter March 9 and gave a cash tip of more than 20 percent.
I scratched out the tip line on the bill. Today my bank statement  is $4.03 more, which is Gators’ suggested 18 percent tip. Watch your bank statements.
