Charles ‘Chuck’ Ramsey

Charles “Chuck” Ramsey, 91, of Lady Lake, FL, left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Charles was born on September 1, 1925 in Derry, Pennsylvania to the parents of Charles and Naomi Ramsey. He attended high school in Derry, PA and graduated in May, 1943. He then served three years in the United States Navy. After his military service he met and married Florence “Toodie” Gray on March 22, 1947. Chuck originally worked as a Carpenter in a lumber yard and then finished a 32 year career at Latrobe Steel. His extremely gifted skills as a Carpenter were employed by dozens of families for many years in Derry and nearby towns. In 1987 upon his retirement Chuck and Toodie moved to The Villages, FL and are active members of the NLPC. Chuck was a very happy member of the church choir for years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Florence Ramsey; sons Ronald Ramsey (Karen); Donald Ramsey (fiancé Gerrie); Robert Ramsey (Melinda); Timothy Ramsey (Beth); 2 sisters, 1 brother, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by 3 sisters and his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 2 p.m., located at North Lake Presbyterian Church, 975 Rolling Acres Road, Lady Lake, FL 32149. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to North Lake Presbyterian Church.
