Eugene Francis Akey

Eugene F. Akey, 92, Leesburg, Florida, passed away on October 2, 2017 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Florida. Mr. Akey was born on November 3, 1924 in Wyocena, Wisconsin to his parents Henry and Edna Akey.

He was a former Cattle Breeder for East Central Breeders Association Cooperative in Waupun, Wisconsin. He moved to Leesburg in 2006 from Pardeeville, Wisconsin and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Akey was a proud veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He is survived by his loving wife of 8 years: Joyce Akey of Leesburg, FL; a son: Howard E. (Cari) Akey of Sarasota, FL; a daughter: Gloria (Ralph) Spray of Leesburg, FL; five grandchildren: Jim Spray, Michael Spray, Suzanne Kroll, Matthew Akey and Christian Akey; three great-grandchildren: Lauren Spray, Jordan Kroll and Tatiana Kroll and his loving step-children.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Mary Akey and his brother, Russell Akey.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Florida.
