Golf cart crashes into dining area at Spanish Springs restaurant

A 79-year-old Villager was ticketed Monday morning after crashing his golf cart in the outside dining area at a restaurant at Spanish Springs.

The crash occurred at 9:20 a.m. at Panera on Main Street when Sandor Radvanyi of the Village of Tierra del Sol was leaving the restaurant. He got into his golf cart and thought he had put it into reverse, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Instead, he put it into “forward,” and drove into the dining area, damaging a railing, table and chairs. A window cracked and The Villages Public Safety Department removed the window for safety reasons.
