A 19-year-old whose license was revoked in Michigan after a fatal accident, was arrested for being back behind the wheel of a car in Sumter County.
Dylan John McConnell of Lake Griffin Road in Lady Lake was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.
McConnell was pulled over after he ran a stop sign in Bushnell, according to the arrest report.
McConnell’s driver’s license had been revoked in 2013 after a fatal accident. According to published reports, McConnell’s car had overturned Dec. 11, 2012 in Hillsdale, Mich. and crashed into a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene. McConnell, who was 17 at the time, had been airlifted from the scene of the accident. At the time, toxicology reports showed that McConnell had been under the influence of drugs including Benzodiazepine (Xanax).
After Tuesday’s arrest, McConnell was booked on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $10,000.
