Golf cart safety emphasized with holiday visitors in The Villages

With so many visitors here for the holidays, golf cart traffic is heavy in The Villages.

Contributing factors like speed and alcohol consumption make golf cart travel more dangerous at this time of year.

A brush-up on golf cart safety could be helpful.

For instance, grandchildren must be 14 years of age before they can lawfully operate a golf cart.

Golf cart drivers must adhere to traffic rules, including stopping at stop signs.

And the speed limit over the Lake Sumter bridge is 10 miles per hour for golf carts.
