The day before a Villager erupted in rage after a fellow Villager tried to school him on roundabout usage, he had answered in court to a charge of speeding.

Kenneth Gould Kardashian, 62, of the Village of Dunedin, is facing a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following the Oct. 30 incident which began at the roundabout at Buenva Vista Boulevard and Hillsborough Trail.

The victim told deputies that he had nearly been rear-ended by Kardashian’s SUV which had been traveling at a high rate of speed.

The victim told deputies he stopped before the Hillsborough Gate and exited his vehicle to explain to Kardashian how roundabouts work. He stated he engaged in a brief verbal altercation with Kardashian. The victim stated as he was walking back to his vehicle, Kardashian’s white SUV struck him on the right side of his body and on his right arm just above the elbow.

Video surveillance from a gate camera helped deputies track down Kardashian and supported the victim’s version of events. The camera also captured the fact that Kardashian was driving with a handicapped license plate. He was arrested the day after the incident.

On Oct. 29 in Sumter County Court in a separate incident, Kardashian was ordered to pay $138.50 in fines and court costs on a charge of speeding. He had been caught speeding on a residential road, according to court records.

Kardashian remains free on $2,000 bond following his Oct. 31 arrest on the felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
