Bobbye W. Evatt McCormick

Bobbye W. Evatt McCormick, 88, of Oxford, FL,  passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Mrs. McCormick was born October 22, 1927 in Pitts, GA to Glen O. and Ruby (Moore) Wood. She has lived in Sumter County for most of her adult life. Bobbye was a retired Sumter County Teacher and enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her family. She had lived in Coleman and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coleman for many years and recently became a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church after moving to Oxford, FL. Survivors include her son, George “Judge” Evatt (Ann) of Oxford; granddaughter, Angela Hughes (Chad) of Wildwood; great-grandsons, Hayden and Hudson. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her first husband, George E. Evatt, Jr. and second husband, John McCormick. Visitation will be held 10 – 11 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2016, in the First Baptist Church of Coleman. Interment will be in Adamsville Cemetery.
