Bruce D. Au passed away June 4, 2017, battling cancer. Bruce was born in Mansfield, Ohio, in 1945, to Vera and Dudley Au, the third of five children.

After serving in the Navy, Bruce moved to Leesburg, Florida. He worked with Waste Management before driving buses around the U.S. and Canada with entertainers and bands. He drove the school bus for St. Paul Catholic School for the last three years and with his can do attitude cheerfully volunteered for numerous projects at the school. He touched the lives of so many and will be missed by all those who knew him.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents, brothers David and Keith, sisters Karen Brakeman and Nancy Neal. Survivors include his wife Dottie, sons Ed (Angie) Genter of Fruitland Park, Kevin (Amy) Owensby of Leesburg, and Joe (Lacy) Owensby of Tyro, KS. Grandchildren Logan (Niara) Genter of Fruitland Park, Lauren Genter (Marc Iceberg) of Oxford, Taylor & Alexis Owensby of Brooksville, Chase, Saylee & Elizabeth Owensby of Leesburg, Regan Kulp, Chloe & Haven Owensby of Tyro, KS.

Great grandson Palmer Iceberg of Oxford and great granddaughter Finn Genter due the first of July. Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 4 – 6 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. 8:30 a.m. mass on Friday, June 9, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Leesburg, with burial service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
