Two local restaurants which failed health inspections earlier this summer, were shut down after failing inspections again.
The Sonic drive-in located on SW 19th Avenue Road in Ocala was closed after failing health inspections on July 12 and 13, according to records on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Four live roaches were found on the wall behind a reach-in freezer at the cook line next to the fryers. Another roach was spotted under the steam table. There were also dead roaches found in the kitchen, the inspector’s report indicated.
The same Sonic restaurant had been shut down in June after failing a health inspection.
Eduardo’s Lokos Tacos on Alfred Street in Tavares was forced to close its doors again after failing an inspection on July 12. Several high-priority violations were discovered in the inspection, including roach activity and raw chicken stored over refried beans in a walk-in cooler. Also, the dishmachine chlorine sanitizer was not at proper minimum strength, according to the inspector’s report.  Â
